In wanting to explore a different aspect of Healing Touch (HT), beyond HT Therapy and the Certification Program, I asked myself “what fascinating influence  did HT have on my personal growth, for the last 24 years, since I started to study it and continue to practice it?”  The first word that came to mind  was synchronicity – one of the concepts discussed in the HT curriculum and in studies on the human and universal energy.  Over time, the more I worked with subtle energy, with the intent “for the highest good” of my clients, I became more comfortable with addressing spirituality with them, and the stronger my intuition and other higher senses became. Also, I increasingly encountered amazing circumstances.  Like telepathy, synchronicity is a phenomenon that astonish us after the
fact, when we put the pieces together.

In my search to provide state of the art information (in itself an amusing example of synchronicity), I referred to my good friend Google who claims “about 6,890,000 results” in 0.71 seconds! (don’t tell me synchronicity is an accident!) The first link is usually straight to the point:

“Synchronicity is a concept, first explained by psychoanalyst Carl Jung, which holds that events are “meaningful coincidences” if they occur with no causal relationship (cause and effect) yet seem to be meaningfully related. Wikipedia

As I scrolled further down, a couple of words caught my attention:  Synchronicity and the Soul – When the Soul Awakens, which linked to Nancy Seifer’s article at whenthesoulawakens.org/synchronicity.  This seemed to perfectly target the point I wanted to explore.  In the Healing Touch Program, the curriculum was developped energetically to gradually bring the student from a simple awareness of dimensions beyond the physical body, to a deaper consciousness of one’s spirituality, through practices to awaken one’s intuition, empathy, compassion, unconditional love and other qualities of the soul. These attributes contribute to raise the practitioner’s level of vibration, creating a resonnance, which affects the energy system of the patient in a positive way and allows him to self-heal.  As the practitioner becomes more in tune with subtle energy, love and intuition help guide which methods to use during a HT session.  According to the article, intuitive awareness, synchronicity, telepathy and other phenomenons, may become more frequent in the personnal life of a practitioner.

I laughed when I read the first four lines of Seifer’s article, the numbers she used for her examples were 1:11 and then 1-1-1, and the manner they occurred, “something prompts you to look at a digital clock”,  are exactly what I experience. Those numbers, but more  frequently 11:11 jump at me.  Without a specific purpose, my eyes happen to look at one of the clocks around the house, at my watch, my cell phone, or on a microwave oven, a TV, a computer monitor; am or pm, anywhere and on other types of display as well.

“The odds against such occurrences are so great that when  we notice them, they tend to stop us dead in our track”.  I don’t remember when it started for me and how I made the association, but 11:11 has become the symbol of my mother (deceased 2/20/2000 – no ones!) paying me a visit. “To the person having an experience, the realization dawns that a mysterious force is at play…on a more subtle plane”.

“Further adding to the mystery, Jung noted that the occurrence has special meaning for the person who experiences it.”  At first, I saw it as fun coincidences, but with time she had a message: “Allo! (she is French Canadian)…slow down…be careful…have fun…I love you!”  Sometimes, it was uncannily sweet; she would come more frequently to sooth me when I had a lot going on in my life causing me stress.  These numbers eventually became infectious;  when my husband and children happen to see 11:11 and I am close, they say “Mom, your mom is here!” and we all laugh.

This may be a humorous  anecdote, but its purpose is to demonstrate that as practitioners of energy work – Healing Touch being one of the modalities, we learn to listen to our intuition, stay open to the guidance that comes from above – the answer to a prayer for the Highest Good, and allow the flow of the energy to support the client’s and our own self-healing.

James Redfield’s first “Insight”, presented “the importance of meaningful coincidences are fundamental to the process of spiritual unfoldment”.  He further explains “By observing synchronicities and trying to fathom their meaning, we are drawn into the world of the soul, thus accelerating our progress on the path of transformation”.  Yes, it is all about become a better being.
