Acupuncture: Recent Study Shows it to be Effective and Cost Effective as Therapy for Depression and Chronic Pain
A recent report published Feb. 2017 in the National Institutes for Health Research Journal has revealed that acupuncture demonstrates being an effective therapy in treating depression and chronic pain. The study included nearly 18,000 participants where results showed that acupuncture was superior to placebo groups and was actually more cost effective. Particularly in the depression group, comparing those in standard conventional treatment with those who received acupuncture and talk therapy the results were similar, but the acupuncture group saved more money and required less financial investment.
