Healing Touch, an All Around Support System

Healing Touch, an All Around Support System

“Healing Touch is an energy therapy in which practitioners consciously use their hands in a heart-centered and intentional way to support and facilitate physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health.  The goal of Healing Touch is to restore balance and harmony in the energy system, placing the client in a position to self heal.” http://www.HealingTouchProgram.com

Healing Touch philosophy aligns closely with Jean Watsons Caritas Principles:
“Healing Touch is an example of an intentional caring-healing modality grounded in ethics,  philosophy, values and consciousness consistent with my original Theory of Human Caring and Transpersonal Caring.  Thus, there is a convergence between my…work in Caritas Nursing and Healing Touch  –  they both work from an energetic framework of Universal Love as  the basis for  all healing and all caring-healing relationships”.
Jean Watson, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, FAAN Founder of the Watson Caring Science Institute

The first response to a HT treatment is deep relaxation; this permits the blocked energy to be released and to flow smoothly through the body, wherever the healing is most needed.

Research supports that HT and other energy modalities have beneficial effects on individuals with prolonged stress  –  the culprit in more than 85% of human diseases.  A glance at  just one specific type of research will show some of its benefits:

“Quantitative studies support the use of Healing Touch to:

  • Reduce anxiety, tension, and stress
  • Reduce fatigue
  • Reduce pain
  • Reduce hospital length of stay
  • Improve immune function in cancer patients
  • Ease effects of trauma and PTSD”                                                                           HealingTouchProgram.com/research

BLOG1 Another good source of information is their Energy Magazine, a free on line monthly publication.  More recently, the creation of  HT Chapters has encouraged members to network with each other, establish a bigger presence in the community by initiating community projects, inviting holistically oriented speakers and discovering the talents of our own practitioners.

Good Samaritan offers day classes to learn Healing Touch methods, call the center at 303.673.1615 for more information, or set an appointment for your own session.
